1. Introduction
---------------
So you have downloaded Navy Seals: Covert Operations and are ready to play? This Quickstart Guide gives you the information you need to start playing. However we suggest that you read the full readme at some point so that you will be able to use all the features of NS-CO and to enrich your gaming experience.
Now on to the game.

2. How do I play
-----------------
When joining or creating a server the game-mode you select is very important. The original Q3a game-modes have been replaced by the following ones:

Operations - This is the new Gamemode. Depending on the map you play the teams have
to fulfill different objectives in order to succeed. Once you die you have
to spectate until the round is over. Rounds end after a pre-set timelimit,
all objectives are completed or one team is dead.
Campaign - This is another mode similar to Operations. You dont play unconnected
maps but rather a series of maps that are linked together by a common story.
In this mode the outcome of a map determines the next one and the team that
wins the most maps wins the campaign. It sounds much more complicated than
		it actually is.

If you experience memory problems when running NS-CO (error messages containing words like "hunkmegs", "zonemegs" and "soundmegs") then please refer to the online troubleshooting guide on our homepage or increase your memory settings using the NS-CO Quicklauncher. If the errors still occur try the NS-CO irc channel, #NS:CO on Quakenet (irc.quakenet.eu.org).

3. Health and Damage
---------------------
Navy Seals: Covert Operations is a deadly game trying to simulate realistic health conditions as accurately as possible. For example you won't see a "traditional" 100% health indicator, you only have a little man on your screen, an icon we call the damage locator. The rough severity and the location of the damage you recieved are displayed by recoloring various parts of this image.
Depending on the severity of damage you got and the location it is you can suffer from various wound side-effects.

Apart from dying from direct damage players can also die due to a loss of blood. The less blood a player has the less his average statistics drop and the darker his vision gets. In the end a player will die because of the lack of blood. Players can "bandage" to stop bleedings and reduce certain damage effects. Bandaging requires you to put down your weapon. "Bandaging" can also restore movement speed, accuracy and vision to a certain degree, although it will not return to the same standard as where you had been unharmed.

4. Commands
------------
A few new commands have been introduced in NS-CO to be used with certain new features and abilities. You can either bind them using the Keys menu or by binding them manually from the Console. The most important commands are listed below:

+button2	- This command opens the door or presses the button directly infront of you.
If there's nothing in range to use, then you start to bandage all
open wounds, to break this action hold your attack button for about
one second. You can still open doors and push buttons while
			bandaging.
+button5	- Hold down this button to rush (Sprint), this will cause your stamina to deplete. The
rate at which it does so depends on your current weapon and your weight.
To regernerate stamina you must stand still, or be crouched
+button6 - Reloads the current weapon. Depending on the type of weapon you either reload
a single shell or an entire clip, in turn replacing the old one.
Reloading can be stopped by holding down the fire button in a similar manner
			to breaking the bandage cycle
 +button7	- Toggle internal firemode (full-auto/single shot)
 +button8	- Toggle tactical weaponmode (scope/laserpointer/recoilcatcher)
+button9	- Toggle battle addon (rifle/gl or bayonet)

5. Abilities
-------------
Abilities affect certain aspects of the game. For Example: depending on your level in certain abilities your choice of equipment is limited. The ability system in NS-CO is sometimes referred to as TASS. This is the actual name of the system.
Techincal, Acuraccy, Strength, Stealth, Stamina & Speed are the available Abilities.

6. Modes of Operation
----------------------
The Objectives you have to complete in Operations mode depend on your team and the map played. The NS-CO source allows mapmakers to create nearly any scenario you could think of, however there are some popular and often used ones that are described here for detail. Those can be combined of course.

 Bombing/Defuse Scenario (BOMB):
In this scenario one team has to bomb one of multiple designated places depending on the map. C4 has to be placed and a timer will be set. The opposing team has to defuse the bomb in time before it explodes or prevent it from being placed.

 Vip Secure Scenario (VIP-S):
One team has a VIP on its side and that one has to survive the round. The other team without VIP has to assasinate the VIP in time before the rond time runs out.

 VIP Rescue Scenario (VIP-R):
This scenario is similar to the VIP-S Secnario, but instead of keeping the VIP alive for some time he now has to be escorted to one or multiple points to survive. The opposing team has to prevent the VIP to reach this point.

 Information Retrieval Scenario (INFO):
This is somewhat similar to classic CTF. One team has to retrieve one or more items (ranging from computer discs to suitcases) from the enemy base and bring them back to a safe place. Of course the other team has to prevent them from escaping with the secret information.
